“Standardization is a strategic tool. That applies to all companies, all organizations, regardless of size. Standardization offers frameworks and impels choices. It is essential for the scaling-up and market acceptance of innovations and for making society more sustainable.” With this conviction Piet-Hein Daverveldt has led NEN as general manager since 1 October 2012.
Daverveldt held several management positions at Shell. In his last positions he was general manager Cost Leadership Supply & Distribution and general manager and process owner for Supply Chain Management. Daverveldt studied physics at Leiden University.
To improve NEN’s position. To let people know that NEN is the ultimate knowledge network in the field of development and application of standards. To have companies, social organizations and government agencies see us as their preferred partner. To ensure that standards can always be applied properly and that they promote innovation, sustainability, safety, efficiency and export power.
To enable organizations to experience standards as a strategic tool; not as a necessary evil. In order to achieve this, we have to know the market, place our client first, and be visible and accessible. This means excellent service provision and generating adequate means to continually invest in improvement.
