View standards


     Using the standard details, you can easily determine whether a standard is the      one you want and then you can view it.

Standard details

The page with details of a standard contains the following information:

  • 1) Document number (in most cases, standard number)
  • 2) Information about status (current, draft or withdrawn number of pages in the document, the official publication date and language.
  • 3) It shows the collection containing the document, in this case the notification collection, and you can add the document to a (different) collection or delete it from your collection.
  • 4) Here, you can see all the available formats of the documents. The format is available to you if there is a blue icon, but if there is a grey icon the format is only available in NEN Connect, but not in your collection. In the example, therefore, the PDF is not in the collection, and a preview of the document is shown.
  • 5) Title of the document
  • 6) A description of the content of the document
  • 7) Date last modified
  • 8) Committee that developed the standard. Clicking on the number reveals an overview of all the standards of the committee concerned. In the case of an international or European standard, the TC (technical committee) is also mentioned.
  • 9) ICS (International Classification for Standards) is a classification system to classify standards by subject. This system consists of three levels: fields (2 digit code), groups (3 digit code) and sub-groups (2 digit code). Clicking on the code reveals an overview of all the standards with the code concerned.
  • 10) Keywords applicable to the document
  • 11) Comments tab: Comments that the administrator has inserted in the document. See Remarks
  • 12) History tab: Earlier versions of the standard.
  • 13) References tab: References to standards specified in the relevant standard
  • 14) Amendments tab: Additions and corrections to the standard.

Consult standards in PDF

Clicking on the PDF icon opens a standard in PDF format in a new tab of your browser. The functions of the browser allow you to search by keyword in the PDF or go to a specific page, among other options.

PDF-icoontje

The icon with the green star means that the document is freely-accessible. A grey icon means that the document is available in NEN Connect, but not in your collection. Read more about Selection of freely-accessible standards in HTML.


Consult standards in HMTL

Clicking on the HTML icon opens the standard in a new tab. The table of contents is on the left. To go to a certain section, click on its title in the table of contents.

You can search the text of the standard using the search icon on the right.
The icon shows the number of search results.

Search standard

The table of contents shows the chapters containing the searched keyword. The keyword is highlighted in yellow in the text.
Close the web page by clicking the cross top right.
