The purpose of this supplement is to lay down a code of practice specially applicable to HTGR's in addition to that given in IEC Publications 231 and 231A. This supplement deals with the general principles for instrumentation applied to HTGR's in which theprimary coolant is high pressure helium gas circulated through a graphite moderated reactor core and a steam generator. Steam from the steam generator is used to feed the main turbine generator-set or other auxiliary devices. The enriched fuel in non-metallic and may be coated with graphite, ceramic or other high temperatrure non-metallic materials.
