The object of this standard is to present terms and definitions relating to the main characteristics of time-to-amplitude converters used in conjunction with multichannel amplitude analyzers in the measurement of time intervals (a commonapplication is in time-of-flight measurements, coincidence measurements, pulse shape discrimination technique, etc.). Test methods for the major parameters are also stated. The considered characteristics are: pulses, time range, conversion factors, time response, ideal linear time response, integral non-linearity, differential non-linearity, time resolution, effective range, additional error of conversion factor with temperature change, reset time, minimum conversion time, count rate capability, busy time.
