This part of the I-ETS specifies the electroacoustic characteristics for terminal equipment intended for use in the videotelephone teleservice in the Integrated Services Digtal Network (ISDN) using handset and Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) encoding according to CCITT Recommendation G.111, A-law and -law . The videotelephony teleservice in the ISDN is defined in ETS 300264. The requirements of this interim standard specifies those characteristics which deviate from those an ISDN 3,1 kHz telephony terminal shall meet due to conditions which are special for the videotelephony application (e.g. delay, framing).
