This international standard specifies an analytical method of steel, iron and iron-nickel base alloys for the trace element determinations of Sn, Sb, Ce, Pb and Bi using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry - ICP-MS. The method is applicable for trace elements in the concentration ranges (ppm) accord ing to: Sn: 5 ppm to 200 ppm, Sb: 1 ppm to 200 ppm, Ce: 10 ppm to 1 000 ppm, Pb: 0,5 ppm to 100 ppm, Bi: 0,3 ppm to 30 ppm There are interferences at the determination of trace elements using ICP-MS, and the interferences are listed in Annex B.
