This test method covers procedures used to detect a change in physical properties of lubricated male condoms after exposure to a personal lubricant, a topic medicine or any other substance that comes into contact with condoms. “Personal lubricants” are lubricants such as liquids or gels that are applied by the consumer at the time of condom use. This test method does not attempt to address compatibility of lubricants applied to a condom at the time of manufacture. Topical medicines in this context are for vulval, vaginal or rectal use. The principles of the test method can be applied to female condoms, but this standard does not present specific test methods and requirements for them.
