This International Standard specifies requirements to plan, establish, implement, operate, monitor, 113 review, maintain and provide a documented integrated facility management (FM) system within the 114 context of managing an organization’s operational activities and risks. The extent of the application 115 depends on factors such as the overall mission and policies of the demand organization, the nature of its 116 activities, products and services and the location where and the conditions in which it functions. 117 The requirements specified in this International Standard are non-sector specific and intended to be 118 applicable to all organizations, or parts thereof, whether public or private sector, and regardless of the 119 type, size, and nature of the organization or geographical location. The extent of application of these 120 requirements depends on the organization’s operating environment and complexity - the overall 121 mission and policies of the demand organization, the nature of its activities, products and services the 122 scale as well as and diversity of geographical location where such a standard would have immense 123 benefits. The standard can be applied to both insourced and outsourced service provision of facility 124 management.
