This part of ISO 15926 specifies the concepts necessary for the recording of geometry and topology using ISO 15926-2. The following are within the scope of this part of ISO 15926: basic mathematical concepts necessary for the recording of geometry and topology; topological relationships between vertices, edges, faces, and volumes; points and directions in space and their definition with respect to Cartesian or non-Cartesian coordinate systems; classes of curve, and the properties necessary to define them; classes of surface, and the properties necessary to define them; classes of solid, and the properties necessary to define them; the parameterization of curves surfaces and solids; the transformation of geometric objects; the relative placement of geometric objects; structured and unstructured meshes, which can be used for finite element and other types of analysis; property distributions with respect to space and time.
