This part of EN 1115 specifies the characteristics of pipes made from glass-reinforced thermosetting plastics pipes (GRP) based on polyester resin (UP) with or without a thermoplastic liner intended to be used in underground drainage and sewerage under pressure. It also specifies the test parameters for the test methods referred to in this standard. It applies to pipes of nominal sizes from DN 100 to DN 3000, intended to be used for the conveyance of surface water or sewerage under pressure above and below ground up to 45 °C. This standard does not include requirements for wall thickness for pipes other than an absolute minimum value and it is not intended to include such requirements at a later date. This is to allow the maximum possible freedom in the choice of materials and design. This standard applies to pipes having a circular cross section that are manufactured from a thermosetting resin with glass reinforcement with or without aggregates and/or fillers. It applies to pipes with or without a thermoplastic liner.
