This standard gives definitions and specifications for heat preserved fruits, their presentation, as well as specifications for raw materials and their prior treatments. It does not treat any aspect legally regulated. It is applicable to fruits in syrup, fruits in fruit juice, fruits preserved in water and to solid pack. It is also applicable to other heat preserved fruits, (for example compotes of bilberry, apple, wild fruits) although no specific requirements are included in Annex A for these product. This standard is not applicable to heat preserved fruits intended to subsequent processing, neither to dietary products. It does not include pie-fillings, preparation of fruits for ice-cream and dairy products, liquid or thickened fruits sauces, fruits desserts and desserts with semolina, crystallized fruits in extra heavy syrup, and any other heat preserved fruits preparations which are marketed in such a way and given such a designation that they cannot be confused with products defined in annex A.
