This standard gives definitions and specifications for canned appertized vegetable - including potatoes - their methods of presentation, specifications for raw materials and their pretreatment. It does not cover matters regulated by legislation. This standard does not cover tomatoes nor tomato products. It is not applicable to vegetables treated by lactic fermentation or by brining, or preserved in vinegar. This standard is not applicable to vegetables intended for subsequent processing.
