|Commissie||Voedingsmiddelenanalyse - Horizontale methoden|
Specifies methods for the extraction and clean-up of non-fatty food samples for quantitative determination of pesticide residues. Different solvents may be used for this purpose. These pesticide residues are generally associated with other co-extracted compounds which would interfae in the analysis. To purify the crude extracts to be analysed, several techniques may be used. Is based on the following extraction and clean-up methods that have been subjected to interlaboratory studies and/or are adopted throughout Europe: - met hod L: extraction with acetone and liquid-liquid partition with dichloromethane and cleanup by sweep co-distillation - method M: extraction with acetone, liquid-liquid partition with dichloromethane and clean-up on a silica-gel/chargoal column - method N: extraction with acetone and liquid-liquid partition with dichloromethane and cleanup on a mixture of Florisil, Celite, Attaclay, chargoal column - method O: extraction with acetone, liquid-liquid partition with dichloromethane/light petroleum, if necessary clean-up on Florisil - method P: extraction with acetone, liquid-liquid partition with light petroelum and clean-up on a Florisil column - method R; extraction with enthyl acetate and, if necessary, clean-up with gel permeation chromatography. The applicability of the seven methods L to R for residue analysis of organohalogen, organophosphorus and organonitrogen pesticides, respectively, is given for each method.
