Over deze norm
This European Standard forms part of a series concerned with clothing designed to protect against the risks emerging from use of chainsaws. No protective clothing can assure 100% protection against cutting by a chainsaw. Nevertheless, experience has shown that it is possible to design protective clothing which offers a certain degree of protection. Protection can be obtained by using 3 different functional principles, namely: - at contact with the outer part of the protection, the chain is rejected; - fibres are drawn by the chain into the drive sprocket and block chain movement; - fibres have a high resistance to cutting and absorb rotational energy, thereby slowing down the chain speed.
