Sets out the requirements for intruder alarm system installed in buildings using specific wired interconnections or wire-free interconnections.The components of an intruder alarm system installed in a building, which are normally mounted on the external structure of a building, shall fulfill the requirements of this standard. EXAMPLE: ancillary control equipment or warning devices. The standard relates to installed intruder alarm system, but does not include requirements for planning, operation, installation and maintenance. Intruder alarm systems may share means of detection, interconnection, control, communication and power supplies with other applications providing the operation of the intruder alarm system is not influenced by other applications. Intruder alarm system sharing such means shall fulfill the requirements of this standard. Intruder alarm system components shall meet the requirements of the relevant environmental classification. This classification describes the environment in which the intruder alarm system component may be expected to operate as designed. When the requirements of the four environmental classes are inadequate due to the extreme conditions experienced in certain geographic locations, national variations may apply.
